Christmas in July#7

Making this card was a true pleasure, very elegant and stately. Truly a clean and simple card enhanced by the Gabriella border. I plan to make this one in several color pallets as well (so many choices). The pretty little pearl accents and satin ribbon trim just made this whole project "Pop".

I hope you enjoy this card and have a wonderful day!

Many Blessings.

Christmas in July #6

I had never done a white on white card before so this card was a bit more of a challenge. After I ran the background mat with another cuttlebug folder to emboss it I then added in the center of each little flower a dab of different color glitter glue to add some sparkle (although you cannot see it very well in this picture)
It really is very pretty card in person.

In Cranberry cardstock I punched a small scallop border edge and added it to the back of the sentiment strip to help it stand up from the whole card. I stamped the sentiment in Dark Cherry Ink to match the cranberry border and added it to the base with some foam dots for added interest.

The cranberry button matches the ink and border really well and with the little bakers twine bow adds such a sweet touch to the whole card.

I hope you enjoy this card and have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

Many Blessings!

Christmas in July #5

Well yesterday was quite a busy day, did not get an opportunity to post anything new so today will get to post 2 cards. This is the next card in the series, a Two Tone Blue with both the background matting and the focal image matting being dry embossed for that touch of texture. The sentiment strip was punched with the eyelet border punch which I think gave it a innocent feel to enhance the soft blue colors of this card.

The double tied satin bow at the top of the focal image and the blue rhinestones on either side of the sentiment gives a sweet touch of class.

I hope you enjoy this card and thank you for stopping by!

Many Blessings.

Christmas in July #4

Double Trouble, as in card # 3.

I reversed the colors for this card. Again, I went for something a bit more classic but with plenty of texture. The satin ribbon added a beautiful touch of shimmer which made the pretty little pearls shine. I  really liked the way the punched border strip behind the focal image pulled the whole card together.

Thank you for stopping by to view this card and I hope you have a Fabulous Day!

Many Blessings.

Christmas in July #3

This has got to be one my favorites so far. (Yes, It is Green) In honor of Tradition (and my brother who also loves this one) I went for something a bit more classic but with plenty of texture. The satin ribbon added just a touch of shimmer which made the pretty little pearls shine. I must say I was really pleased with the way the punched border strip behind the focal image pulled the whole card together.

The Reindeer looks like he could just take flight at any time.....here comes Santa Clause!!!

Hope you all enjoy the card and have a wonderful evening!!

Many Blessings.

Christmas in July #2

This blue polka dotted embossed background enhanced with a touch of white ink made this whole affect of snow ideal for this card. I recently purchased the "Gabriella" border die from Memory Box and couldn't wait to see the results...needless to say it is so delicate and  intricate, just the perfect touch for this card. The focal image was enhanced with a few blue rhinestones to the little stamped snowflakes to give it a little sparkle!! After all, what is a Christmas Holiday without some sparkle?!?!?

So until next time, Let it Snow and I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Many Blessings,

Christmas in July

This truly makes me want to put up the tree with all the trimmings. Christmas is one of my very favorite Holidays. I will be posting several cards this week in preparation for up coming orders. My first Card this week has to be one my favorites so far!! It has such a resounding message and one I truly pray for daily!

The lovely floral embossed background and focal image die cuts just make this card warm and hopeful. It is all mounted on a dark hunter green card base which makes everything pop from the little rhinestones to the pearls in the corners. The ribbon was a bit crooked in this picture but rest assured it will be all straight and pretty again when it is packaged with the other matching cards for this set.

I hope you enjoy this card. Please come back and visit again for our other Christmas themed designer cards this week!

Many Blessings,

Love That....Texture

Well I could not have been more happy on this card challenge.
I watched a video a few months back on how to make this card and being a dual purpose truly excited me and a huge thank you to Brandy Cox for the inspiration. Not only is this texture but has a purpose too!!! I know right....thrilling.

Its a tri-fold card and a beautiful flower pin in one. Texture comes not only from having ran the background mat through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder but also with the fleece material that the flower pin is made from. I made quite a few of these for Family and Friends for Mothers Day and Easter in assorted colors and it is just so unique and beautiful!!!

I used some basic color card stocks and assorted Matching DSP from various sources to make these cards.
I used the Sizzix Bigs Die "Flower Layers with Heart Petals to make the Flower pins.

This yellow one is just so happy!!!

The purple is a perfect accessory for any outfit!!

The Green is so soft and sweet!!

I hope you enjoy these cards as much as I enjoyed making them.

Many Blessings!

Marvelous Minis @ http://modsquadchallenge.blogspot.com/

Well it has been awhile my friends. Busy Busy lately with work and family but being a Holiday weekend I was finally able to find some time to be creative.

I had so much fun making this little 3 X 3 card that I want to make it a full set in multiple colors to send to a very special friend!

I started with bright card stock from color box and then chose a bright pink card stock for the border mat.
I rounded the edges for a softer look. I then cut another piece of bright white card stock for my center image and softened the edges with Victorian Velvet Distress inks by Ranger again rounding the edges. I tied some bakers twine in raspberry into simple knot about 3/4 of the way up. I used my simple words clear stamps (not sure where I found those) for my sentiment in soft pink ink to match the little flowers. I used the Mod Flower Border craft die and cut the middle flower with the little mini flowers for my focal image in soft pink.I embellished the centers of the flowers with bright pink gem stones.

I hope everyone is enjoying the 4th of July Holiday Weekend!

Many Blessings.

Seven Layer Dots

I drew so much inspiration this week from a few friends and their designs through a blog hop.
I decided to go Green since it is my favorite color. I will be entering this card in The Stamping Boutique's

Challenge #19....USE DOTS.

In my stash I found a lovely piece of DP and I cant recall where I purchased it but thought it was quite fitting for this card challenge since it was all dots. Although it doesnt show in the picture it does have some tiny glittery specks throughout the dots. I layered the DP onto a piece of basic white card stock and layerd that onto a piece of green light weight card stock. I then added  some green dotted 3/8" ribbon to the whole piece keeping with the theme of the card. I then added the whole panel to a white base card.

After stamping my sentiment on white card stock I decided to layer it onto a piece of green card stock and added that to another piece of white card stock. Using my paper pierce I used 4 glitter round brads for each corner to add some bling and sparkle. As if that wasn't enough bling I added a green gem to the word wish in the sentiment. I used some pop dots to adhere my sentiment layers to the card.

I found a matching green button and tied some bakers twine in a bow though the button and added a lighter gem to the center of the bow. I added the button with some glue dots to finish the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you are having a Fabulous Week!!

Many Blessings,

RED, WHITE, and BLUE!!!!

Everyday I remember those that were taken while defending our freedoms..I  can't say Thank You enough to those who fought and sacrificed.... past, present and future along with all the families. I have great Love and Respect to the family members who served and I Dedicate this card to you all...My eldest son -Michael Stanley, Uncle Robert Hart, Uncle Roger "ya-ya" Nedley, Cousin Tommy Mills and my fantastic father - Charles Nedley.

For my card I used Sizzix Oval Scallops Dies to create the layering focal imagine. I used Fiskars "All Year Greetings" clear stamp set for the Sentiment.
After adhering each layers together  I added some tiny dots with a white gel pen in each scallop to accentuate the image, then added it to the blue background.
Using my paper pierce I added some Star brads  and then tied a couple knots on white satin ribbon and added them in the opposite corners. I then added the whole panel to white card stock.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you are having a Fabulous Weekend!

I had such a great time doing a triple time stamping challenge that I tried something completely different with distress inks on the same type of card. I think this one came out great and love the color scheme!!

Hope you all have a wonderful week and thanks for stooping by!!
Another truly hectic work week and barely getting this one done on time.
I am a true Coffee lover, but this card was just too irresistible!

Another Gorgeous day and another card this time for a different challenge.
I had a really difficult time deciding  which color pallet to use for this challenge. I was really inspired when I walked out my front door and saw the beautiful tulips and daffodils in the flower bed so I decided to stay with bright spring colors.

I will be entering this card in the  Challenge # 15: A Sketch Challenge
by The Stamping Boutique.

I stamped and cut the Flowers and Vinery from my Sizzix Flower stamp and die set in Pink, Violet, Purple, Bronze, Copper and Olive Green and then mounted them on my background with Pop Dots to give some dimension.
I used some 5/8" Dark Blue Ribbon behind the sentiment for some added richness.
I stamped the sentiment on 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" white cardstock in Bahama Blue Ink from Memento Inks.
Adding three glittery Brads on the side gave it just a little bling!!

I was so inspired at the thought of making your own designer paper that I made another card with a different style from a YouTube video I had watched a while back, I can't recall who the author was and I think it was called Triple Layer stamping. Once again I used my distress inks to blend colors in shades of pink, blue and green on white card stock to give it a softer look and I used a deeper teal color to stamp the sentiment although in this picture it looks a bit green. I matted each layer on a sky blue card stock to tie in the color of the stamp I used for the flower.

I like this style quite a bit so I might have to make a few more in other colors for my Siblings Birthdays that are coming up soon!
I hope you enjoy this card and have a wonderful weekend!

Well, today was a great day to play with my Adirondak Alcohol Inks for the Mod Squad Challenge "Lets DIY".  I even used some quilling for this card. I thought this would make a perfect Graduation Card!
Love it when I can combine multiple techniques and achieve something so unique!!!

Adirondak Alcohol Inks in Eggplant & Lettuce on glossy paper for my Designer Paper Background.
(amazing what a little ink and blowing through a straw can create)
Fiskars Decorative Edge punch for the Sentiment Framing and lower border and I used the same Colorbox Light Purple Cardstock.
5 1/2" X 4 1/4 " base  in Light Purple from Colorbox Spring Pastels Collection
Offray 5/8" White Ribbon to tie in the lower border.
Fiskars Clear Stamp Set " All Year Greetings" for the sentiment.
Quilled Flower made from Paplin Paper in Deep Purple, Raspberry, Bright Yellow and Willow.
And finally some Pop Dots for behind the sentiment to give it some added dimension.

I had a great time making this card and I hope you enjoy it as well..

This weeks Mod Squad Blog Challenge is called "Tag......You're It!"  in which you create a card with a tag on it. Quite appropriate title!

I started with a basic white card stock from ColorBox in Snow White and then layered a Pale Blue card stock also from Colorbox's Spring Pastels Collection. I don't normally use many tags so I made this one for this card. Its really hard to tell from the lighting in this picture but I used Kodak photo paper and some Distress Inks by Ranger for a different affect. I used Tumbled Glass and Victorian Velvet which resembles a pale pink & blue marble which I thought was lovely for this card. The Bow tied on top is Fushia Sheer Petite Dots ribbon I purchased at Walmart for another project but it matched my color theme perfectly.

The clear stamp set for the sentiment and butterfly stamped on the tag are from Fiskars "Butterfly Magic" and I used Colorbox ink in pink.

For just a touch of Wimsey I added 2 pink flowerette brads in the upper left corner of my third layer which is from Ki Memories Bright Geo Paper Pad  before adhering it to the card base and adding my tag. I layered the sentiment on a piece of Pink card stock and added it to the card with Pop Dots for added Dimension.

This was such a fun card to make and I'm sure to be using more tags in the future!

I hope you enjoy this post and have wonderful rest of the week!

Again totally love YouTube, watched a video today using a brayer and rubber bands with embossing powder. So,  I experimented a little today since I don't own a brayer I used a dowel rod and achieved a very similar look ..wanted a total grunge look kind of card and this is what I came up with. Gotta love basic Black and White!!
